Inspiring Women Gathering

What do you get when a group of mostly strangers come together?

Smiles, hugs, new friendships and lots of laughs.

We met on a very warm Friday afternoon at the Fairways Inn Birley Sheffield.

A local carvery pub with easy access by the Sheffield Supertram system, and beautifully situated next to Birley Golf Club, a place my son loves to frequent.

At opening time, we took our seats in the area reserved. Drinks were consumed: zero Guinness and water for me. I was working after all!

What made the gathering so special?

It wasn’t and isn’t a networking event; there was no need to be in business to attend. We welcome any women who want to make new friends, socialise and probably laugh a little or a lot. As this was the first official gathering for a long time, we had a photoshoot to allow updated images for the group. My hair is yet another colour, all natural this time and once again I am in a jumpsuit. I do love my jumpsuits. Wearing what made us feel comfortable, and finished it off with some fabulous smiles.

The candid shots from the day captured the energy perfectly, and the group shots at the end of the meeting were great fun, even though we were a bit naughty. The gathering started with a quick introduction so we could all get to know each other a little better. I spoke about SoulShift and brought along my Russian dolls, using them as a prop to demonstrate the many layers of our being. The core that is our values and essence. The layers we show are often part of use masking or showing only part of who we are. The pieces that we think others want to see of us. But if we show our essence more often, we are indeed more of who we are. Our communication is clearer, we feel stronger and more resilient.

After dinner (I’m northern remember), we heard from Elaine of Elaine G photography, speaking of her passion for photography, a love that came from her father Gordon, a professional photographer. Elaine truly is a chip of the old block, as they say, a gifted photographer in her own right. Sharing how she is currently on a year-long sabbatical from a job she loves to focus on building her photography business, following her passion. We also received some fabulous hints and tips on getting the best from our camera phones. So watch this space for some new and improved selfies.
